A Letter From the President
I am happy to report that there has never been a more exciting time to be part of the United Soccer Training Academy family. When Bob Zanicky and I founded this organization in 2005, we had three goals in mind. 1) We wanted to give our kids the best possible training we could find to allow every player the opportunity to take their game as far as their ambitions would allow; 2) We wanted to create an environment that would promote the virtues of respect (both for themselves and others), discipline, and love of neighbor; 3) We wanted to build bridges and extend our program beyond the parochial barriers and politics of local soccer organizations and develop a regional academy that would benefit all of the local clubs. Little did we realize at the time that the bridges we continue to build would not only overcome the local divides that we faced, but would propel us to an international stage, where our curriculum, values and vision are benefiting children around the globe. I'm still amazed at what we've accomplished in such a short time, and even more excited about what our future holds.
Through the dedication and tireless efforts of Bob Zanicky, United Soccer Training Academy has engaged Coach Phil Brogan, recently of the legendary Manchester United soccer organization, to take the helm of our academy. As a result, our kids and every player across the globe who trains under our academy will be receiving the benefit of a soccer training curriculum that has been tested by generations of soccer successful European professional teams. In 2010 Bob and Phil established United Soccer Training Academy in Ghana, engaging Ghana's legendary national soccer coach, Isaac Paha, as our Academy Director there. As a result, we are not only giving thousands of kids the opportunity to excel at a game that they love, but our academy is housing, feeding and clothing our academy participants.
This new year brings exciting opportunities to expand our humanitarian outreach through youth soccer to Zambia and Brazil, where we are establishing our Academy with some of the respective country's best soccer coaches and professional teams. What we were able to accomplish in Ghana, we are now expanding to Zambia and Brazil. And because we are bringing humanitarian aid, as well as opportunity for children to better themselves, we are bridging the obstacles of local politics and being welcomed with open arms. There is truly no better time to be part of our family and to participate in the great things we are involved with. It is with great optimism that I bring this report to you, and I encourage you to help us to continue to do great things for underprivileged children through the humble promotion of youth soccer.
Sincerely,
Raymond A. Hassey
